The Ayres/Knuth Farm is listed on the NJ and National Registers of Historic Places. The Ayres and the Knuth families have the longest documented history on the property for about 90 years each. Munsell’s “History of Morris County” refers to the Billie Ayres Distillery serving the county. With links to Morris County history and names such as Garrigus, Cooper, Budd, Hill, Crane, Jackson, Bellars, Franklin, Morris, even Greystone Asylum…new historic findings are always being discovered!
Incorporated in 1998 to accept the challenges of funding preservation and restoration for the Denville Township property, the Ayres/Knuth Farm Foundation raises funds to match grants, writes and manages grants, directs restoration and preservation and, brings events to the historic site for community education and enjoyment.
